The Panama Canal ("Canal"), exceeded its figures with 1,481,757 tons carried over in a single day, according to the volume measurement system of the Canal's universal tonnage system ("Vessel System").

Thanks to the Vessel System, the Canal Authority can establish the number of vessels transiting through the inter-oceanic route, which, up to the fiscal period October 30, 2016 to September 30, 2016, it carried 13,114 vessels representing 330.7 million tons.

Of this total of vessels, 238 were Neopanamax vessels that transited through the enlarged Canal in the first three months of operation, with a total of 18.2 million tons.
